"Yet we still do not know where the drive to truth comes from, for so far we have only heard about the obligation to be truthful which society imposes in order to exist, i.e. the obligation to use the customary metaphors, or, to put it in moral terms, the obligation to lie in accordance with firmly established convention, to lie
en masse and in a style that is binding for all."

Your sentence was the shortest I've seen so far (based on replies here and in FB) -- but the sentence-book title tandem is perhaps the best of the lot!!! Kewwwwwwwwl. :-)
The book closest to me is a Danish-English dictionary; it hardly contains one full sentence. The second-closest is my birth horoscope. Here goes:
ReplyDelete"Women with this planet position are attracted by intelligent men who they feel can expand their intellectual horizon; there may be relationships with men from foreign countries."
OK, isn't that eerily accurate? :-)
ReplyDeleteYep!
ReplyDeleteThe position referred to is Mars in Sagittarius, btw.
